Frankincense tears is the dried resin from the boswellia tree.

2. FRANKINCENSE RESIN EXTRACT
Frankincense resin extract is what you get after extracting the moisture from the frankincense tears. This step is important if you want the boswellic acid.  Just soaking the frankincense tears in oil is not effective.

3. FRANKINCENSE ESSENTIAL OIL
Frankincense essential oil is the oil that is removed from the frankincense tears during steam distillation. The boswellic acid molecule is too large to be distilled into the essential oil, and only trace amounts are found in the essential oil.

4. FRANKINCENSE OIL
This is frankincense tears soaked in oil for an extended time.  

Why We Produce A Premium Frankincense Resin Serum?

We don't simply soak frankincense in oil, as the oil alone cannot extract the boswellia acid from the frankincense resin tears. Instead, we first separate all moisture from the original frankincense resin prior to infusion. This process effectively releases the boswellia acid. 

We prefer the Boswellic acid extract as it is found in the denser resin part of the frankincense tears. The molecule of the boswellic acid is too large to be distilled into the essential oil, thus, only trace amounts are found in essential oils.
